As we enter the next phase of our testing programme we need you, our fellow shipmates, businesses and community to get on board.
We have achieved such a lot as an unfunded community group and with a strong and growing mandate from our communities and river lovers we are now planning a crowdfunding campaign to fund phase two of our rigorous and high quality bacterial and chemical river long testing programme.
We are leading the way in community driven collaborative action towards the resolution of sewage pollution in our rivers.
Come with us, it is nice in! Or it will be! We are creating a movement of transparency and accountability and We invite you to join us on the Good Ship Friends of The Dart. Click here to complete a short form, one of our team will be in touch.
It is our mission to advocate for the River Dart
We work to minimise pollution, improve biodiversity and empower communities from source to sea.
We do this through evidence based advocacy and constructive engagement.
We seek to contribute to the well being of other rivers through best practice leadership and collaborative working.

How can my business get involved?
As a business that appreciates the River Dart, you will know how important the quality of the river water is to your customers. Can your business get involved in some way?
- Your business may want to make a corporate donation or get involved as a sponsor.
- And maybe you could donate a prize?
- Perhaps you would be happy to circulate the Crowdfunder launch news to your network of contacts?
- You may even be happy to take some Friends of the Dart point-of- sale leaflets to promote the cause.
Your involvement would give your business visibility amongst our strong and ever growing community, as well as in our Crowdfunder promotional materials and media outreach.
With your support, we will clean up the Dart, from source to sea along its 75km. That’s the equivalent of 1500 olympic-sized swimming pools set end-to-end for us all to safely dive into and enjoy. That’s a healthier river and happier customers.

Collaborative currents for change
Together we can make a difference for the long term Health of our Rivers and Communities.
I am only one business/ person, how can I possibly make a difference? The problem is vast!
Yes, the issues are complex. If we had stuck to this way of thinking we wouldn’t have already achieved the strong levers for change of four defra and environment agency recognised designated sites on the Dart. There are more plans in place to utilise effective levers and affect more positive long term change. It is clear, it is time for change for the health of our rivers and our communities. We are a group with very varied backgrounds, political ideals, ages and experiences. We are swimmers, walkers, river and nature lovers, farmers, anglers, paddle boarders, business owners, environmentalists, kayakers, yacht owners, all united in one movement for change.
